How to get a cleaner recording before you edit anything
Get closer than feels natural
Most bad voice recordings are too much room and not enough voice. Put the mic closer to your mouth, lower the input if it clips, and let proximity beat background noise.
Record one clean sentence first
Before the real take, record a sentence and play it back. You will hear fan noise, rubbing cables, mouth clicks, or a headset mute problem faster than a meter can tell you.
Leave a little silence
A short pause at the start and end makes trimming easier. It also gives future tools a clean sample of the room tone if you want noise cleanup later.
Save the raw take too
Download the edited WAV for sharing, but keep the original browser file when available. Raw takes are useful if you later want transcription, cleanup, or a different edit.

Is this online voice recorder private?
Yes. Recording, playback, editing, and WAV download happen in your browser. Your voice is not uploaded to Clabrate, and there is no account or server-side processing involved.
Will my recording still be here after refresh?
The recorder saves finished takes in your browser, not on our server. A refresh should keep them. Clearing site data, using private browsing, or a browser storage cleanup can remove them.
Can I trim or cut mistakes out of the audio?
Yes. Drag the timeline handles to trim the start or end. Drag across the middle to select a mistake, then cut it out and the remaining audio joins together.
Which audio formats can I download?
WAV download is generated locally for broad compatibility. When your browser also provides an original MediaRecorder file, you can download that too, usually WebM/Opus or M4A depending on the browser.
Can other Clabrate tools use these recordings later?
Yes. Recordings are stored in a shared local browser library. The free transcribe tool can pick a saved take and turn it into text without uploading it.
Why does the browser ask for microphone permission?
The permission prompt is the browser letting this page hear your mic. It starts only when you press record. If you deny it, open the mic icon in the address bar and allow microphone access for this site.
